In my backyard.

Hello,
I am sorry for neglecting my blog for nearly a week, but I've been rather busy with a conference, finishing a paper and enjoying the lovely weather we had. But now I'm back, for the time being!
I took these pictures this afternoon in my backyard - it's now cloudy and rainy and not pretty and sunny as it has been for days and days.

I also thought I'd show you my national costume I wore on Sunday - Norway's constitution day.

Pretty bows.

A few days ago I bought these ever so pretty bows from Bianco, that I thought I'd show you. I'm thinking of going back and buying more colours, perhaps.

Even if I wish it wasn't, studying for my exam in June. Other than that, working out.

I have different things I obsess about at different times, then the obsession just dies. Right now, as silly as it sounds, the future.

A gingham dress, white cardigan and some lace tights.

Pasta, I suppose. Preferably with pesto if I succeed making it on my own.

Not so much celebrities (although Zooey Deschanel is an exception) since I am more inspired by bloggers with wonderful style.

The old farm

There is an old, abandoned farm where I live (technically now belonging to the museum though), which I think is really very charming and pretty. I often go for walks there.


There is also a deep forest behind it.



I wish more houses had grass on their roofs today.

Sun and sea.

Photos from a couple of days ago that I took at the seaside. The ocean looked so pretty and sparkly in the sunshine.



My dog, Tassus, also came along and he seemed to enjoy it a lot.

Sunny weather.

The last few days have been so lovely and sunny here. Even if the temperature didn't rise that much, it still caused the snow to almost be completely gone most places, and the sunshine's given me a huge boost of endorphins - something which is excellent when you're stessing out over exams and the ridiculous amount of curriculum that needs to be read.

White pumps.

My aunt came over with some old clothes and shoes today including these pretty white pumps. Apparently they have belonged to my grandmother - and should be pretty old (probably from the 60s or 70s) - but the thing is, they look like they haven't been worn at all! 
I also got a couple of other things that I'll show you another day.
I hope you are all enjoying your weekends - I need to go back to studying.

Brownish hues.

It finally feels a little warmer around here, I don't get cold too easily when I'm outside so spring seems to be in the air. That being said, the official snow depth is still around half a meter (something I check every day as I'm so eager for it to disappear!), so unfortunately there's still a little bit left to go before it feels properly springy/summery.

I took these pictures yesterday while taking my dog out for a walk.

Vegetable muffins.

This evening I have been making vegetable muffins, which taste quite scrumptious.
Here is how I made them in case any of you would like to give it a try!

I grated half a zucchini and two carrots until it looked like this:



Then I added 300 grams of flour (I mixed spelt and whole grain wheat), a teaspoon of cinnamon, two teaspoons of baking soda, a bit of salt and mixed it together with the zucchini and carrots.


Then I chopped a handful of pecan nuts which I added to the mixture.


I also chopped some chives and added them too.


Since I don't eat eggs (if you want to use eggs you're welcome to do so - use two) I used "no egg" as an egg replacer and added to the mixture.


Then I added a spoon of oil, and 2 1/2 dl of water (I was out of soy milk - you're supposed to use milk actually, but water worked just fine!)


I then mixed everything and put the dough into muffin molds (make sure you've applied some oil or butter to the molds before you put the dough in).


Bake for 15 - 20 minutes at 200 degrees celcius, and voila!

The muffins, with hummus on them, make a nice evening meal together with a cup of tea.
