Orange tree.

DSC03981

I wish I could live in a garden with fruit trees, like this orange tree. In Israel there are lemon and orange trees everywhere, with ever so tempting fruits, which I unfortunately haven't tried tasting yet.

Hanukkah

DSC04047

While most of you have been celebrating Christmas, I've been celebrating Hanukkah this last week. Up until now I had never really celebrated it, so this time it was lovely to celebrate it with all the things it includes, such as lighting the candles, songs, and delicious food like sufganiot (like berliner doughnuts) and latkes (potato pancakes).

Last night was the last day of Hanukkah, and we made latkes.

Jaffa

Today I discovered what has to be my favourite place in Tel Aviv: Jaffa. It's one of the oldest ports in the world, and it's so extremely pretty and picturesque with the old buildings, sea, and palm trees.

The Dead Sea

On Thursday and Friday my boyfriend and I went to the Dead Sea for a two day trip.

I floated in it, which was a strange experience. Somehow, though, I'd expected to float even more easily than I did. It was nice nonetheless.

We also went to a beautiful nature reserve where we went hiking in the mountains. There were also natural springs and waterfalls there. I'd never seen anything like it before - it seemed almost magical.

Cute, little animals like this one were running around everywhere.

As well as going hiking and floating in the dead sea, we also had a mud bath - which was fun, but we forgot to take pictures of it.

Nephew?

Today I've been taking care of my sort of nephew - my boyfriend's sister's child. I'm not quite sure when someone becomes your nephew or niece when they're not one of your siblings' children. Is it only when you're married, or can you also be an aunt if you've been with your boyfriend or girlfriend for a long time? I really don't know. Anyway, I took care of him today together with his nanny, and it was really delightful since he is such a sweet and funny child. He looks a bit like a girl, though, as his hair is so long and he's wearing a clip in it to keep it away from his face.

Tomorrow I'm going to the Dead Sea for two days, and I'm extremely excited about that.

With my boyfriend again.

I've been in Israel, with my boyfriend, for two two days now and it's lovely. First of all because I get to be with him again, secondly because the weather is great, and thirdly because the food is excellent.

This is what I wore today, taken in my boyfriend's garden:

Dress from Asos, and belt from H&M.

And, as promised, this is what I bought in Oslo. A gray, cute skirt and a black dress, both from Zara.

A day with my sister.

Right now I'm sitting at the airport getting ready to continue the second lag of my journey. Today was spent in Oslo visiting my sister, which was really very nice. We had breakfast together, went to the city centre and did some shopping (mostly I did, and I'll show you pictures of my purchases tomorrow maybe), and then had dinner in an Indian restaurant. I can't get enough of Indian food. Though, most of all we chatted lots and lots. There were just endless amounts of things to talk about as we hadn't seen each other in so long (even if we do talk on the phone now and then).
