Polka dotted underwear.

Yesterday I bought this really darling underwear set with polka dots on it from Tiger of Sweden. I thought it was just so delicate and charming with the dots and the bows and lace that I had to get it.

Taking photos using photobooth isn't very easy (at least not from that angle), sorry about that.

Also, thank you for the suggestions on what I could post about while I don't have a camera. Some of those ideas were really good, and I'll try to use them sometime later on. I don't think I'll have the time to post a lot this week since I'm quite busy correcting tests, preparing lessons and moving away from Helsingborg in southern Sweden where I've been for two months now. I'm going to Israel for a little holiday in five days (where I'll also be able to use my boyfriend's camera!) so I hope to post more then.

The painted veil.

The painted veil 01

The Painted Veil is probably one of my favourite films (my list of those is long!) mainly because the scenery and atmosphere in it is so spectacular.

The painted veil 03

It makes me long to go to the Chinese countryside and to wear beautiful dresses from the 1920s.

The painted veil 02

Naomi Watts plays Kitty, a young woman who didn't get married to her husband, Walter, played by Edward Norton, because she loved him, but because she wanted to get away from her family. She has an affair, and Walter finds out. Kitty doesn't want to be divorced for adultery so she stays with Walter. She is forced to come with him into a remote area of China where he is to fight cholera, and hates it there. Walter tries to make life miserable for Kitty, and they barely speak with each other, but slowly they begin to have feelings for each other again.

On another note, my camera has been sent in to be repaired - and was apparently sent back to me, but it seems to have gone missing with the post. So extremely frustrating. That's why I haven't been posting much lately, but also because I've been quite busy.
Therefore I want to ask you, do you have anything you want to see in this blog? Really, anything? A few ideas, wishes and suggestions would be good so that I have something to post about until I get my camera back!

Vintage hair

This is what my hair looks like today after some experimenting.

I followed Strawberry Koi's tutorials to get my hair like this. The tutorials are really great, so if you don't know them, or if you're interested in doing the same to your hair (which really is easier than it looks), you should check them out.

I hope you've all had a magnificent weekend!

Nearly spring!

Hello springy weather (01)

It finally seems as if spring has come (although it was much, much too cold too cold to wear this outfit by itself!) - the sun has been shining every day for the last few days, you can definitely feel the warmth of the sun, and there are small buds on all of the trees. It's so lovely, but it feels a bit sad that I won't get to see a real, green spring before I leave here to go back to northern Norway (but, the nice holiday to the summery place I'm going to before that will make up for it).

Weekend.

I didn't have the time to blog this weekend as my sister came for a visit, which was a lot of fun. We baked pizza, watched movies, went to Malmö for some shopping, went to the cinema, partied, went for walks, had Indian food and looked at pictures. A very pleasant weekend.

I thought I'd share some pictures with you.

I also have a question for you. I changed the font on my blog last night, but I can't see it on the computer I am using at work (now), but I could at home on my own computer. Do you see it (a handwriting-like font), or does it look the same as before?

Cinnamon rolls.

I made some delicious vegan cinnamon rolls yesterday, and now they're all eaten up.

DSC04690
(before they were baked)

Here is the recipe in case any of you would like to make some.

125 grams of vegetable margarine
2,5 deciliters of soya milk
25 grams of yeast
0,5 deciliters of raw cane sugar
9 deciliters of spelt flour (I usually let half the amount be full grain spelt)

cinnamon, vegetable margarine and sugar for the filling.

1. Melt the margarine in a pot, and add the milk when melted.
2. Add the liquid to the yeast, which you've crumbled. Mix well.
3. Add the sugar, and the flour and mix. Knead the dough.
4. Let the dough rise for about an hour.
5. Divide the dough in two and roll it out with a rolling pin.

DSC04689

6. Smear butter and strew cinnamon and sugar onto the dough.
7. Start rolling it together on the longest side, and then cut into 4 cm rolls with a knife.
8. Put the rolls on a baking paper and let rest for a few minutes. At the same time, put the oven on 200 degrees C.
9. Bake for around 12 minutes, and voilà!

Of course, if you don't want to make vegan cinnamon rolls, the soya milk and vegetable margarine can be replaced with ordinary milk and margarine. The same goes for the sugar and the flour - use white, refined sugar and white wheat flour if you want!

(There is something wrong with my camera, which is why these pictures aren't the best. For some reason the image doesn't show on the camera screen when I take pictures - but it does show when I click to view it. So frustrating.)

Red, white and an umbrella.

Umbrella/outfit (04)

On Sunday I dressed up in some of the new clothes that I bought last week and took these photos. Because it was raining it wasn't initially such a good day for taking photographs, but I really like the darkish and gloomy shade the weather caused them to have.

Saturday night's outfit.

I had so much fun last night. I rarely go out partying because I never really have the time - I had almost forgotten how amazing it is to dance the night away. Do you often go out partying/dancing etc.?

This is what I wore, nonetheless. I changed my mind about that bow in case you're wondering why I'm wearing it in one picture and not in the others.

To all of you who are wondering why I am not wearing any shoes: Over here we don't wear shoes inside... I wore some oxford lace ups when we went out later on.

Pretty clothes on ebay.

Since I already spend so much time on ebay looking for cute vintage clothing, and because I neither have the means nor the need to buy everything I come across for myself, I thought I could perhaps show you some lovely things I've come across that maybe someone else would like to get.

Such a darling little dress, found here.

I love the fact that this one is so whimsical!

Isn't this one just wonderful?

The most adorable sailor playsuit, found here.

I thought this one was so, so sweet. Perhaps because Annie is one of my favourite films?

Oh, and this one is really cute, too, with an Indian print.

Shopping in Malmö.

I finished teaching rather early today and decided to go to Malmö to see the city and go shopping a little bit (which ended up being more than a little bit...), and I have to say that I prefer it so much more over Copenhagen. Malmö seems to have a much bigger variety, uniqueness and to be cheaper - which is strange as Copenhagen is a lot bigger. Or maybe I just wasn't lucky when I went to Copenhagen. Still, I am going to try to persuade my sister to go to Malmö with me instead of Copenhagen when she comes here in a little more than a week.
Anyway, here is what I bought;

DSC04622
This extremely adorable blouse at H&M. I had no choice but to buy it - it was one of those times when you feel love at first sight - and then I always get it because I know I will not regret it.

DSC04625
A skirt from H&M trend. I think this will be just perfect for spring and summer. One thing that struck me about it is that the colours in it remind me so much of the recent Lula (which I had to buy since it doesn't seem to be coming even though I have a subscription).

DSC04620
Another skirt from Gina Tricot. I love the colour and the cut of it!

DSC04618
And these wonderful high waisted shorts at Tjallamalla. They are a little slouchy, but tight at the waist and around the legs. I love them.

DSC04614
Oh, and I also got a see-through umbrella! I needed a new umbrella, and this one was really cheap, and I like the fact that it's see-through.

I also happened to run into Elin from 'Elinkan' while I was there. She was as sweet and adorable as ever!
