Bow overkill?

Bow overkill
Since purchasing the Zara bow shirt and the American Apparel bow hair band a few weeks ago I've been tempted to put together an outfit incorporating both of them, and perhaps adding more bows as well. And when I ordered some new tights online a little while ago (and one of them being with bows!), I decided to take the idea even further and wear a very bow-y outfit.

I always feel pretty reluctant to wear two or more print items (either if it's the same print or different prints) in the same outfit even if I often feel like matching a polka dotted skirt with a polka dotted blouse. Every time I end up telling myself that it looks out of place and that it's a little too much. However, after wearing this outfit for a day I think that it could work out wearing matching prints and I think I'm going to re-attempt matching polka-dots.

Oh Ariella, you look really adorable with that bow in your head and all those little bows around you! I love it!
And I've got that shirt too, it's simply great!

Print on prints: bold! and you're working it! Sorry, too much Tyra Banks. I just bought a bow headband from my favourite Korean jewellery stall. It's navy and not as big as yours but just as nice.

I love this outfit and there are definitely not too many bows. I adore bows. This reminds me of an outfit that I wore last Friday (black and white polka dot cardigan, black skirt and tights with smaller polka dots). With your outfit and the one that I recently wore I think the solid colour skirt breaks up the use of patterns and it is very effective. Also, I solved my problem with flickr. It seems so obvious now but took awhile to work out.

I just came across your blog and I think it's so cool that you're Norwegian! I was born in Norway but moved to Canada when I was three but still consider myself Norwegian. Og jeg prater Norsk!

I'm often reluctant to wear more than two printed items together, as well. I admire people who can style multiple printed items so flawlessly. And that's just what you've done here! I think you've balanced out the bows perfectly - it doesn't look like an overkill at all. I'd love to see you match some polka-dot pieces. Here's to pattern matching confidence :)

I really think it's cute :) It is a bowy outfit indeed! But I must say that the hair band is really cute on you it reminds me of Alice and Wonderland.
